Education and Training 

The NAFD is committed to providing high quality education and training for people currently employed in the funeral service, and in providing information for individuals considering a career within the funeral sector.

Our aim is to support you to deliver high quality services and to develop skills and good practice to care for your clients through achievement of funeral service related qualifications and training.

 Our qualifications are currently being updated and preparations are taking place for launch in May 2012.

We will shortly be able to offer the following:-

  • Certificate of Training in Funeral Service Awareness
  • National Certificate in Funeral Arranging and Administration
  • National Diploma in Funeral Directing

Full details of the above qualifications will be published in March 2012.

Vocational Qualifications

Vocational qualifications remain an option for those who may wish to register.

Advanced Certificate in Funeral Service

This is an entry-level vocational qualification designed  for Funeral Assistants and Funeral Operatives, Drivers and Bearers.

Advanced Diploma in Funeral Arranging & Administration

This vocational qualification is designed for people working as Funeral Arrangers and Administrators.
