The NAFD is committed to providing high quality education and training for people currently employed in the funeral service, and in providing information for individuals considering a career within the funeral sector.

Professional Qualifications

Foundation Degree in Funeral Services

Are you considering a career in the funeral service or thinking about broadening your knowledge? If so, a Foundation Degree in Funeral Service may be a suitable qualification option for you to consider.

Foundation Certificate in Funeral Service

This is an entry-level course leading to the Foundation Certificate in Funeral Service providing an introduction to the funeral service. The course is still available but is currently under review.

Diploma in Funeral Directing

The course is based on the Manual of Funeral Directing and the syllabus reflects best practice in funeral service. This course is still available but is currently under review.

Diploma in Funeral Service Management

The Diploma in Funeral Service Management is designed for people with supervisory responsibilities. This course is still available but is currently under review.

Vocational Qualifications

Advanced Certificate in Funeral Service

This is an entry-level vocational qualification designed for Funeral Assistants and Funeral Operatives, Drivers and Bearers.

Advanced Diploma in Funeral Arranging & Administration

This vocational qualification is designed for people working as Funeral Arrangers and Administrators.
