Foundation Certificate in Funeral Service
From 30 September 2011, registrations for this entry-level course are no longer being taken.
A revised short pre entry qualification will replace the current Foundation Certificate and will be available in late Spring 2012. Further details regarding the course syllabus will be published on this webpage from March 2012 onwards.

Course Overview
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
This entry level qualification, has now been withdrawn as a result of the work taking place to prepare for launch of the forthcoming revised NAFD Qualifications in Spring 2012. Students who have registered before 30th September 2011, will have three years in which to pass the Foundation Certificate in Funeral Service and Diploma in Funeral Directing. Students who have not successfully gained the awards by 30th September 2014 will then have to re-register on the new system and start at the beginning of the new awards.
Examination Timetable

February 2012
June 2012 - this will be the final Foundation Examination. If a student has not passed the Foundation by June 2012 they will find it difficult to study for the Diploma and pass all elements before 30 September 2014.
Business as Usual - the vocational qualifications (accredited by Edexcel) will remain as an option for employers and their staff to use to assist with training during the period of transition.
