NAFD maintains lowest card rates in the sector

The National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD) has negotiated a new and exclusive arrangement on merchant services which means its members will continue to enjoy the lowest card rates in the sector.

The NAFD has used its buying power to set up a new arrangement with PaymentSense – the UK’s largest merchant services provider, which is official card processor to more than 60 trade associations – which is offering rates of 1.15% on credit cards and 15p on debit cards. There will be no rate increases during the term of the agreement – a minimum of three years – and no additional charges will be levied for ‘Cardholder Not Present’ transactions.

“We are delighted to secure this excellent new deal on merchant services, which should enable our members to reduce their chip and PIN costs by up to 40%,” says NAFD chief executive officer Alan Slater.

“NAFD members can leave any existing contract they may have in place with the previous provider without penalty, while PaymentSense’s simple process means that businesses which decide to switch can be up and running in a matter of days and with minimum fuss.”

The NAFD’s new merchant services deal is effective from 1 January 2012 and not only guarantees that rates will be capped for the duration of the contract, but also does away with set up costs. UK-based support from a team of highly qualified engineers is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, assuring funeral directors of a high standard of service.
