MP Presents Funeral Association With IiP Award
Mr Taylor made the presentation to the NAFD’s president Karen Petersen on Friday, 25 January. He commended the NAFD on motivating its staff by engaging them in shaping the Association’s long-term business strategies, as well as involving them in its day-to-day operations.
“Thanks to its positive and active approach to issues affecting both the general public as well as its member businesses, the NAFD is a highly respected organisation which is consulted regularly by government departments and agencies on a range of issues, including organ retention,” said Mr Taylor.
“In attaining Investors in People the NAFD has reinforced its commitment to continuous improvement across all areas of its business while ensuring its members’ interests remain paramount.”
The NAFD is the longest established funeral trade association in the UK and is responsible for providing direction and support to its members on a wide range of topics including education, continuous professional development training and professional ethics.
“We operate in a highly people orientated business and I am delighted that our commitment to improving standards by ongoing development of the team here at national office has been acknowledged with this prestigious award,” said the NAFD’s chief executive officer Alan Slater.
“The Investors in People accolade reflects our efforts to meet the needs of the public by setting higher standards of professionalism amongst our membership - and ensuring compliance with our Code of Practice - as well as instilling confidence in our members that we are well equipped to serve their interests,” he added.
Investors in People is the national standard established in 1990 to provide a framework for improving business performance and competitiveness by empowering staff to take a key role in the implementation of business strategies.
