NAFD launches exclusive dental plan for members
The NAFD Dental Plan is a new benefit of membership which has been set up by the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD) to provide funeral directors and their families with a choice of cover from as little as £9.00 a month.
Unlike many policies, the new NAFD Dental Plan refunds 100% of the cost of individual dental treatments, subject to generous annual maximum allowances, and covers examinations, hygienist services, X-rays, fillings and extractions, root canal treatment, dentures and repairs – even crowns, bridges and white fillings. The comprehensive package also includes prescription charges, in-patient benefits, accidental damage, dental emergencies and oral cancer cover, providing those who sign up with extra peace of mind.
The NAFD Dental Plan has been developed in conjunction with Protego Group Ltd, a specialist in the design and management of healthcare insurance policies for insurers and brokers, charities, affinity groups, public sector organisations and employers. The scheme’s insurers are underwriters with more than 135 years of experience in helping people with their everyday medical expenses and a well-deserved reputation for high standards of customer service.
Both NHS and private treatment options are available through the NAFD Dental Plan and with premiums to suit members’ individual budgets the scheme represents excellent value when compared with alternative products on the market. Its inherent flexibility means that NAFD members can even state which dentist they want to carry out their treatment.
Under the terms of the NAFD Dental Plan all fees, benefits and conditions are clear and straightforward – there are no hidden charges, discounts which are suddenly withdrawn or increases in premiums as a result of a claim.
“Anyone who has been to the dentist recently will have been shocked at how much treatment costs have risen, while many people have been forced to register for expensive private treatment because they were unable to find an NHS dentist,” says NAFD chief executive officer Alan Slater.
“With the NAFD Dental Plan the costs of treatment are reimbursed promptly, usually within 10 days, and since all our members have to do to make a claim is provide the receipted bill and fill out a claim form, the whole process is remarkably quick and simple.
“Some of our members will no doubt be interested to know that Protego Group Ltd can help them establish their own company dental scheme – something which is not only a potentially valuable employee benefit, but one which can also have a tax advantage for the business.”
